This topic explains the workflow and system usage for creating Teams, adding Players to Teams, adding Coaches to Teams and viewing Printing out information to be used during the Weigh-in workflow.

Manage Teams

This is the section where Commissioners can create teams, edit teams, and search for team details.

  • The system is pre-populated with all FCYFL Clubs
  • Commissioners must login and create all of teams that are needed BEFORE uploading the Player data spreadsheets.

Manage Coaches

This is the section where Commissioners can create coaches, edit coach information, and search for coaches, and convert existing people in the database into a coach.
  • The worklist for Manage Coaches will display ALL people that our database is aware of that are already coaches or could become a Coach. This list should be searched first before creating a new coach to ensure the person isn't already in the system.
  • When a name in the worklist has a plus sign next to it, this signifies that a person was found in the system that is not a Coach. Click the plus sign to make this person a Coach.
  • When a name in the worklist has a green arrow next to it, this signifies that the person is a Coach. Click the green arrow to edit their record.

Assign Coaches to a Team

This section allows Commissioners to assign Head and Assistant Coaches to teams.

Upload Player Spreadsheet

This section allows Commissioners to upload their player registration data into the system. Changes to address and team will be detected and saved in the database if the same spreadsheet is uploaded again.
  • The 2009 Spreadsheet template must be used.
  • The Club and Team names must match exactly what Blue Jean has.
  • The Teams must be created before uploading the spreadsheet:
    1. Login to Blue Jean and create all of the Teams that are referenced in the spreadsheet. The Team names must match what is in the spreadsheet's Team column.
    2. Open the spreadsheet.
    3. Verify correct spreadsheet template is being used. [Hint: Coach column should NOT be in the 2009 template]
    4. Verify Club names. Appropriate Club name abbreviations will be provided to the Commissioners by Gary Burner. These same Club names will be available in the Blue Jean database. The Club names in the spreadsheet column must match what is in the Blue Jean database.
    5. Verify the Weight Class Column has "LB" instead of "#"; and that there is no space between the number and "LB". For anklebiters, use "AB" and it does not need to be followed by "LB".
    6. Verify that the address, city, state, and zip code is completely filled in for all players
    7. Verify formats for the Registration date and Birthdate colums. They should be formatted in mm/dd/yy or m/dd/yy format
    8. Make sure there are no extra rows or columns in your spreadsheet
    9. Import the Player Spreadsheet
    10. Review Import Players Results Report (Successes, Warnings, Errors, etc.)

Manage Players

This section allows Commissioners and Coaches to search for and view player information.
